Showtime has renewed dramedy series The Big C for a fourth and final season of four one-hour episodes, the network has confirmed.
Created by Darlene Hunt, The Big C follows Catherine Jamison, a wife and mother who has been diagnosed with stage 4 melanoma, as she battles her illness with the support of her friends and family. Produced by Sony Pictures Television, the dramedy series stars Laura Linney, Oliver Platt, John Benjamin Hickey, Gabrielle Basso and Gabourey Sidibe.
The fate of the series had been in fate for some time and TVWise initially reported earlier this month that executives at Showtime were considering a shortened fourth and final run to conclude the award winning series. Showtime declined to comment on when these final four one-hour episodes will air, but I’m hearing speculation that they are pencilled in for late spring.
TVWise’s Cable TV Scorecard has been updated with this new information.
