HBO has revealed its plans for fall and confirmed that the third season of Boardwalk Empire will premiere on Sunday September 16 at 9/8c, while the third season of Treme will premiere the following week on Sunday September 23 at 10/9c.
Boardwalk Empire was created by Terence Winter and follows the exploits of Nucky Thompson and his criminal enterprise in Atlantic City in the 1920’s. The drama series stars Steve Buscemi, Kelly Macdonald, Michael Shannon, Shea Whigham, Jack Huston, Stephen Graham, Michael Stuhlbarg, Vincent Piazza, Paul Sparks, Michael Kenneth Williams, Gretchen Mol and Bobby Cannavale. The show’s third season is poised to pick up from the explsive season two finale which saw main character Jimmy Darmody murdered by Nucky.
Created by David Simon, Treme explores a unique American culture rebuilding after historic devastation, chronicling the life of New Orleans residents in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina. The drama series stars Wendell Pierce, Khandi Alexander, Clarke Peters, Rob Brown,Steve Zahn, Kim Dickens, Melissa Leo, Michiel Huisman, Lucia Micarelli, Jon Seda, David Morse and India Ennenga.
