FX Orders Comedy Pilot 'Bronx Warrants' – TVWise

FX has given a pilot order to Bronx Warrants, a new half-hour comedy series from Rescue Me producers Denis Leary and Jim Serpico.
Created by Dean Lorey (Arrested Development), and based on the real life exploits of David Joglar and Richard Wetzel, Bronx Warrants revolves around a group of errant warrant detectives in the Bronx, who are assigned to arrest individuals with outstanding warrants. With bonuses paid out for each “body” they bring in, the detectives are out to get rich rather than dole out justice. The comedy is being produced by FX Productions, with Dean Lorey, Denis Leary and Jim Serpico serving as executive producers and Tom Sellitti serving as a co-exeuctive producer.
Speaking of the pilot order for Bronx Warrants, Eric Schrier, Head of Series Development for FX and Executive Vice President of FX Productions, said: “We’ve enjoyed a great relationship with Denis, Jim and Tom through seven years of Rescue Me and I believe they found the perfect project to continue that relationship. Dean Lorey has taken this unique police squad and created a hilarious and surprising world of characters and situations.”
Series creator Dean Lorey said: “I’m thrilled to be working with Denis Leary, Jim Serpico and the great team at FX, We loved this show from the second real life Bronx Warrants cops David Joglar and Richard Wetzel shared their insane exploits with us and we can’t wait to get shooting.”
While executive producer Denis Leary added: “I speak for everyone at Apostle when I say it’s great to be welcomed back into the FX family where we hope to make a laugh-out-loud half hour and – even more importantly – use the network’s juice to sneak into the Emmy gifting suites and come away with many bags of shiny swag.”
