The seventh and final season of TNT’s crime-drama series The Closer will receive its UK premiere on More4 on Thursday June 14th at 10pm, it has been announced.
The Closer was created by James Duff and follows Brenda Leigh Johnson, a deputy chief in the LAPD who has a knack for getting difficult to obtain confessions. The drama series stars Kyra Sedgwick, J. K. Simmons, Jon Tenney, Mary McDonnell, Corey Reynolds, Robert Gossett, G. W. Bailey, Tony Denison, Michael Paul Chan, Raymond Cruz and Phillip P. Keene. The Closer is produced by The Shephard/Robin Company in association with Warner Bros. Television, with James Duff, Greer Shephard, Michael M. Robin, Kyra Sedgwick and Rick Wallace serving as executive producers.
In the show’s seventh and final season, which runs a longer length of 21 episodes, the new police chief, Tommy Delk (Courtney B. Vance), starts the process of reorganising the LAPD, before a sudden event puts a halt to his plans. Meanwhile, Deputy Chief Johnson becomes the target of a civil lawsuit for her actions in the lead up to the shooting of Turell Baylor. The show’s final season also helps to lay the ground for the upcoming spin-off Major Crimes.
