Channel 5 has closed a deal to acquire the exclusive UK rights to CBS’ drama series Person of Interest from Warner Bros. International Television Distribution. The show’s 23 episode first season is expected to premiere on Channel 5 later this year.
Created by Jonathan Nolan, Person of Interest stars Jim Caviezel, Michael Emerson, Taraji P. Henson & Kevin Chapman and follows John Reese, a former CIA agent, long presumed dead, who teams up with a mysterious billionaire to prevent violent crimes. The drama series is produced by Bad Robot Production is association with Warner Bros. Television with JJ Abrams, Bryan Burk, Greg Plageman and Jonathan Nolan serving as executive producers.
Speaking of Person of Interest, Katie Keenan, Channel 5’s Head of Acquisitions, said: “We are very excited to be launching this series on Channel 5. Person of Interest is a classic dark mix of cops, corruption and crime and will make for thrilling viewing.”
While Jeffrey R. Schlesinger, President of Warner Bros. International Television Distribution, added: “We believe the subject matter and style of Person of Interest will hold great appeal for UK audiences, and Channel 5 is a great home for it.”
