A&E has set a June 3rd premiere date for its new drama Longmire. Based on Craig Johnson’s Walt Longmire Mysteries novels, the series stars Robert Taylor as Walt Longmire, the sheriff of a rural Wyoming county returning to work as he grieves the death of his wife.

Taylor leads a cast that includes Katee Sackhoff as his sharp new deputy Vic Moretti, Lou Diamond Phillips as Walt’s old friend Henry Standing Bear, and Bailey Chase as deputy Branch Connally. Cassidy Freeman plays Walt’s daughter Cady.

Set against the wide landscapes of the American West, the series mixes a weekly mystery with the slow-burn story of a man putting his life back together. It marks another original scripted drama for A&E.
