TV Land Renews The Exes For Second Season – TVWise

Scrubs alum Donald Faison is returning to TV Land. The cabler has renewed his comedy series The Exes for a second season which is set to air in the summer. The decision to renew the series comes just one day after the season finale aired on TV Land. The half hour sitcom boasts a series of notable actors amongst its cast; Donald Faison (Scrubs), Wayne Knight (Seinfeld), David Alan Basche (The Starter Wife), Kristen Johnston (3rd Rock From The Sun) and Kelly Stables. The Exes revolves around three newly single guys sharing an apartment which is owned by the one person they have in common: their divorce attorney. The renewal comes as no surprise as the series has been averaging an audience of 1.5 million total viewers and a 0.65 rating in the 25-54 demographic.
The Exes is the latest entry in a push into original scripted series by TV Land, who are largely known for running repeats of popoular network sitcoms such as Everybody Loves Raymond and King of Queens. Since debuting Hot In Cleveland back in 2010, the network has seen tremendous success with its own programming, frequently attracting well known actors (such as Jessica Walter, Donald Faison and Wayne Knight) to headline the network’s growing line of comedy series. The network is also not showing any signs of slowing down when it comes to original programming, having just last month green-lit production on a Hot In Cleveland spinoff starring Cedric The Entertainer titled Have Faith. That series is set to debut in the summer alongside the second season of The Exes.
