Exclusive: PBS UK will air a four hour biography on America’s 41st President, George HW Bush, just one week after the global premiere of Clinton on the channel. The documentary will be broadcast across four nights, starting on February 27th at 10:15 pm with the final installment airing on March 1st.
The documentary (narrated by M*A*S*H’s David Ogden Stiers) follows America’s 41st president from his early days, through his time as a pilot in World War 2, his family life, congressional career, early diplomatic postings, his tenure as CIA director, the Vice Presidency and finally, his one term in office as President of the United States. A series of notable people contribute to the documentary including Barbara Bush, Jeb Bush, Condoleezza Rice (Soviet and East European Affairs Advisor to President George HW Bush), Colin Powell (Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff), John Sununu (Chief of Staff) Mikhail Gorbachev, presidential historian Richard Norton Smith and biographer Herbert Parmet.
