BBC One has canceled period legal drama Garrow’s Law, TVWise has confirmed. A representative for the BBC stated: “BBC One will screen more that 20 new dramas this year but Garrow’s Law will not be returning.”
The series began airing on the channel in November 2009 and ran three seasons; each consisting of four episodes. Produced by Shed Media, the series starred Andrew Buchan (The Fixer), Alun Armstrong (New Tricks), Lyndsey Marshal (Rome), Rupert Graves (Sherlock), Aidan McArdle (The Duchess) and Harry Melling (Harry Potter) and followed the exploits of defence barrister William Garrow. The show’s third season averaged just at tick over 5 million viewers in it’s Sunday night time-slot and was considered quite successful considering the series was up against stiff competition, such as I’m A Celebrity: Get Me Out Of Here.
