Star Trek: Discovery will return to Netflix UK to finish airing its first season from Monday January 8th, it has been announced. New episodes will continue to be made available to Netflix UK subscribers every Monday, less than 24 hours after they initially stream state-side on CBS All Access.

Star Trek: Discovery now has a premiere date. Netflix UK has announced that the newest entry in the Star Trek franchise will premiere on Monday September 25th, when the first two episodes will be available to stream. During their upfront presentation in New York City, CBS dropped the first full trailer for the upcoming Star Trek: Discovery, which is presently eyed for a September premiere on CBS All Access in the US and Netflix in all other territories (including the UK).

CBS is bringing back another fan favourite character from the original Star Trek series for upcoming franchise entry Star Trek: Discovery. The Office and Backstrom star Rainn Wilson has been tapped for a guest starring role in the new Trek series as intergalactic criminal Harcourt Fenton "Harry" Mudd, TVWise has learned.

CBS All Access is establishing a firmer link between Star Trek: Discovery and The Original Series. The nascent streaming service has announced that they have tapped James Frain to play the recurring role of Sarek, the famed father of Spock. Additionally, while production on the series is on-track to begin next week in Toronto, Canada under new showrunners Gretchen J. Berg and Aaron Harberts, the release window has once again slipped.

At the request of Bryan Fuller and Alex Kurtzman, CBS's streaming service CBS All Access has pushed the premiere of Star Trek: Discovery from January to May 2017. In keeping with the previous roll-out plans, the series premiere will now air on the CBS network during the May sweeps, before it shifts to CBS All Access for the remainder of its 13 episode first season.

Bryan Fuller is going in a different direction for Star Trek: Discovery. Sources have confirmed to TVWise that the showrunner is looking to cast a female in the lead role of his rebooted Star Trek series.
