ABC has handed out a full season order to their Freddie Highmore fronted freshman medical drama The Good Doctor. The show's first season will now consist of twenty-two episodes. The series is set to air on this side of the pond on Sky Living, after they acquired The Good Doctor in a deal with international distributor Sony Pictures Television.

ABC is staging a 24 reunion. Mykelti Williamson, who starred in the eighth season of the Fox counter-terrorism drama as the Director of CTU New York, has been tapped for a recurring role in Kiefer Sutherland's new ABC series Designated Survivor He will play Admiral Chernow, the Vice Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff who quickly becomes one of President Kirkman’s (Sutherland) most trusted advisers.

The U.S. adaptation of Channel 4 comedy series Raised By Wolves, which is set up Arrowverse super-producer Greg Berlanti's production company, has landed at ABC with a script commitment and hefty penalty, TVWise has confirmed.

Falling Skies alum Connor Jessup has signed up to return to John Ridley ABC anthology series American Crime for its third season, TVWise has confirmed. Plot details about season three are being kept firmly under wraps, though series creator John Ridley previously revealed that it would be set in North Carolina and will deal with labor issues, economic divides and individual rights.

Ever since ABC parent Disney acquired Lucasfilm in 2012 there has been talk, off and on, about a potential live-action Star Wars series coming to the network. At the Television Critics Association Summer Press Tour, new network topper Channing Dungey confirmed that, while there is not a Star Wars project in active development, the ambition to get such a series on ABC is still very much there.
