The second season of Knightfall will receive its UK premiere on History UK on Tuesday July 2nd at 9pm, it has been announced.
Created by Don Handfield and Richard Rayner, Knightfall examines the Knights Templar, the secretive order who were at one time the best warriors in the world. The series tells the story of faith, loyalty and brotherhood that help sustain these warriors on the battlefield, and the dark events that would forever sear the infamous date of Friday the 13th into the world’s psyche.
The drama series is produced by A&E Studios and stars Tom Cullen, Ed Stoppard, Pádraic Delaney, Simon Merrells, Julian Ovenden and Jim Carter. Joining the cast for season two is Mark Hamill, Genevieve Gaunt, Tom Forbes and Clementine Nicholson. With the historical and ruthless downfall of the Templar Order on the horizon, season two focuses on themes such as power, redemption, revenge, betrayal, family, and ultimately an epic war between church and state.
