STV Productions has scored a multi-season renewal from the BBC for both Antiques Road Trip and Celebrity Antiques Road Trip.
BBC One’s Antiques Road Trip will return for fourth further seasons, for a total of 80 episodes; while BBC Two’s Celebrity Antiques Road Trip will be back for another season of 20 episodes.
The mega recommission comes after the fourteenth season of Antiques Road Trip reached over 16 million people in the UK when it aired back in January. It also ranks as one of BBC One’s most successful daytime programmes this year.
Production on the next four seasons of the show is already underway and they will air over the next two years on BBC One. The new season of the celebrity edition is also now being filmed and will feature such celebrities as Stephen Tompkinson (pictured), Ricky Tomlinson, Hayley Mills, Pam Ayres, Brian Conley, Chesney Hawkes and Debbie McGee.
“It’s fantastic to be back on the road to produce another two years’ worth of episodes of Antiques Road Trip and its celebrity version”, said Liam Hamilton, Deputy Director of Content at STV Productions. “The successful format continues to entertain as our experts and celebrity antiquers search high and low for weird and wonderful items to sell at auction.”
