Bake Off is back! Close to a year after the BBC lost the series, Channel 4 has announced that the new season will launch later this month.
The new ten part series – featuring long-time judge Paul Hollywood as well as new judge Prue Leith and hosts Sandi Toksvig and Noel Fielding – will kick off on Tuesday August 29th at 8pm. The first week is cake week.
As previously announced, the show is getting an extended time-slot (running one-hour and fifteen minutes) so as to ensure no content is lost by the need for Channel 4 to run advertising breaks.
Elsewhere, companion show The Great British Bake Off: An Extra Slice, hosted by Jo Brand, will launch on Channel 4 later in the week, on Thursday August 31st at 10pm. Jo Brand chats to a panel of celebrity Bake Off fans, looking at all the goings-on from the tent and shines a spotlight on the best and the worst moments from the latest episode and an interview with the baker who left that week.
