Here’s a nice bit of cross-company casting. Dove Cameron, the star of Disney Channel’s U.S. series Liv And Maddie and Descendants, has signed on for a recurring role on the upcoming second season of Disney Channel UK’s original series The Lodge.

Cameron Dove will play Jess, a sporty girl who lives locally to The Lodge who has been training for a big mountain biking championship. She joins a cast that includes Sophie Simnett, Jade Alleyne, Thomas Doherty, Luke Newton, Jayden Revri, Joshua Sinclair-Evans, Bethan Wright, Martin Anzor, Marcus Garvey, Tom Hudson, Dan Richardson and new series regular Mia Jenkins.

“Dove is already loved by fans as a part of the Disney Channel family, so I couldn’t be more thrilled to welcome her to The Lodge for season 2″, said David Levine, Vice President, Programming, Production and Strategic Development, Disney Channels EMEA and General Manager, Disney Channels UK & Ireland.

“I’m really excited to be joining The Lodge, it’s such a friendly cast and crew, and I feel really welcomed here for my first filming in the UK”, Dove Cameron said in a statement. “I’m also looking forward to getting out on a bike as well as singing and dancing for the series.”

Similarly Olivia Holt (also a Disney Channel alumnus) appeared on the first season of “The Evermoor Chronicles” (interesting how Dove’s current boyfriend is a regular on “The Lodge” – and they’re both in “Descendants 2”).
