TNT’s drama series Major Crimes will return to Universal Channel to finish airing its fifth season from Monday February 27th at 9pm, TVWise has confirmed.
New episodes will continue to air every Monday in the 9pm time-slot, mere days behind their U.S. debut on TNT, through to the season five finale in late April.
Created by James Duff, Major Crimes follows the major crimes division of the LAPD under the command of Captain Sharon Raydor. The drama series is produced by Warner Horizon Television and stars Mary McDonnell, G.W. Bailey, Tony Denison, Michael Paul Chan, Raymond Cruz, Phillip P. Keene, Kearran Giovanni, Graham Patrick Martin and Jonathan Del Arco. Joining the cast in recurring roles this season is Camryn Manheim and Leonard Roberts as Deputy Chief Winnie Davis and Commander Leo Mason, respectively. TNT recently renewed Major Crimes for a sixth season.
In the final eight episodes of season five the LAPD moves to fill the vacant Assistant Chief post, a position that Sharon is considered for as well – whether she likes it or not – creating tension within the department. In addition, Sanchez will try once again to become a father; Flynn and Sharon will continue down the path to matrimony; Provenza considers retirement; Rusty interns for DDA Hobbs as he looks toward attending law school when he graduates from UCLA; Buzz attempts to help the family of the man who murdered his father; Sykes will confront an old foe in Mark Hickman; Tao will be instrumental in solving a case dealing with plastic explosives; and Dr. Morales joins the squad for the entire investigation of a very personal mystery.
