Channel 4 Sets UK Premiere Date For ‘Homeland’ Season 6

The sixth season of Showtime’s counter-terrorism drama Homeland will receive its UK premiere on Channel 4 on Sunday January 22nd at 9pm, it has been announced.

Homeland follows Carrie Mathison, a CIA case officer who finds herself battling her own demons while she works on the front lines of the War on Terror. The drama series is produced by Fox 21 and stars Clare Danes, F. Murray Abraham Mandy Patinkin and Rupert Friend. Joining the main cast this season is Elizabeth Marvel as Elizabeth Keane, the President-Elect. Guest stars include Hill Harper, Robert Knepper, Patrick Sabongui, Jake Weber and Dominic Fumusa.

The show’s sixth season several months after last season and finds Carrie Mathison living in Brooklyn, New York. She has begun working at a foundation whose efforts are to provide aid to Muslims living in the U.S. Season six will tackle the after effects of the U.S. presidential election, with the entire season taking place between election day and the inauguration. It’s a strange, transitional time in the halls of government filled with anxiety and different competing interests, where a very fragile and complex transfer of power takes place between the outgoing president and the incoming president-elect.
