Fox’s DC drama Lucifer is getting a full run in its second season. The network has handed out a back nine order to the show, bringing the total number of episodes ordered for season two to twenty-two.
Lucifer continues to be a strong ratings performer for Fox, averaging a multi-platform audience of eight million viewers; registering a +105% jump vs. Live + Same Day. The series airs in the UK on Amazon Prime Video, who make new episode available to stream within 24 hours of their U.S. broadcast on Fox.
“Lucifer continues to deliver, with great blasts of dark humor and ambitious storytelling. The show has turned out to be a true wicked pleasure, the perfect companion to Gotham and we couldn’t be more pleased to order these nine additional episodes,” said David Madden, President of Entertainment for Fox.
“We’d like to thank Tom, Lauren and the entire cast, who have imbued these characters with charm, humor and a great deal of humanity”, he continued. “Our thanks also go out to the production crew – Jerry, Len, Jonathan, Joe and Ildy – who, week-in and week-out, deliver a stellar show. We can’t wait to see what’s in store for the rest of the season.”
