The second season of Channel 4’s co-production Humans will premiere on Sunday October 30th at 9pm, it has been announced.
From Sam Vincent and Jonathan Brackley, Humans is set in a parallel present where the latest must-have gadget for any busy family is a ‘Synth’ – a highly-developed robotic servant eerily similar to its live counterpart. In the hope of transforming the way they live, one strained suburban family purchases a refurbished synth only to discover that sharing life with a machine has far-reaching and chilling consequences. The drama series is produced by Kudos and Matador Films and stars William Hurt, Rebecca Front, Colin Morgan, Katherine Parkinson, Tom Goodman-Hill, Neil Maskell and Gemma Chan.
In the show’s second season, which picks up several months after the events of season one, Niska is living as a fugitive in Berlin, while in the UK, Leo, Max and Mia are laying low in a coastal hideout, where Leo and Max come to the aid of Hester , a very special Synth. The Hawkins’ are struggling to put past events behind them as they settle into a new home, and things are complicated further when a visitor arrives unannounced on their doorstep. In San Francisco, Athena Morrow, a scientist researching AI is recruited by charismatic Milo Khoury, the entrepreneurial force behind tech company Qualia, for a top-secret project.
