Syfy’s six-episode anthology series Channel Zero will receive its UK premiere on 5Star on Monday October 31st at 10pm, it has been announced.
Channel Zero follows Mike Painter, who returns to the hometown he left as a kid only to relive the happenings of years ago when his brother was one of five children murdered in a case that was never solved. Old memories return to the surface when one mother’s child goes missing after mentioning that she had been watching Candle Cove, a creepy children’s puppet show he used to watch around the time of his brother’s murder. Although others remember watching this show, they are startled by the realization that it never truly existed and they had been staring at TV static.
The series, which tells a new horror story with a new cast each season, was originally commissioned by Syfy last-year with a two-season pick-up and is set up at Syfy’s sister studio Universal Cable Productions. The six episode first season, which is based on Kris Straub’s unnerving “creepypasta” short-story, was developed for television by Nick Antosca and stars Paul Schneider, Fiona Shaw, Natalie Brown, Shaun Benson and Luisa D’Oliveira. Showrunner Nick Antosca executive produces alongside Max Landis.
