The third season of BBC Two’s ratings hit The Fall will premiere on Thursday September 29th at 9pm, it has been announced.
Created and directed by Allan Cubitt, The Fall follows Detective Superintendent Stella Gibson, an officer from London’s Metropolitan Police Service who is called in to assist the PSNI investigate a string of serial murders in Belfast. The drama series is produced by Endemol’s Artists Studios and stars Gillian Anderson, Jamie Dornan, Colin Morgan, John Lynch, Valene Kane, Stuart Graham, Gerard McCarthy, Bronagh Waugh and Aisling Franciosi.
The show’s third season picks up from the season two finale, which saw Spector lay wounded after being shot. In the emotionally charged aftermath of the shooting, Gibson’s personal journey to exact justice for the victims’ families must begin with the blood-soaked fight to keep Spector alive. Joining the cast this season is Krister Henriksson, Aidan McArdle, Ruth Bradley, Aisling Bea and Richard Coyle. Archie Panjabi, who starred in the first two seasons as pathologist Paula Reed Smith, is not returning for season three.
