Star Trek: Deep Space Nine actor Barry Jenner has passed away at the age of 75, his family announced today. Jenner died on August 9th and is survived by his wife Suzanne Hunt.
Jenner was a veteran character actor, but is perhaps best known for his recurring role as Vice Admiral Ross on Star Trek: Deep Space Nine, frequently starring opposite series lead Avery Brooks. He was in some twelve episode of the series, first appearing in the season six premiere and wrapping with the series finale, ‘What You Leave Behind’.
Born in Philadelphia, Barry Jenner came to Hollywood in the 1970s and while he never hit it “big”, he amassed an impressive resume of TV credits. He had guest or recurring parts on a wide range of shows including Knots Landing, V, Dallas, St Elsewhere, Hunter, The Taking Of Flight 847, Falcon Crest, Matlock, Family Matters, Walker, Texas Ranger, Mike Hammer: Private Eye and JAG. He also remained popular on the sci-fi convention circuit.
