Parenthood star Jason Ritter has been tapped for a recurring role on David E. Kelley’s Amazon series Golitah, which is being fronted by Billy Bob Thornton (Fargo) and if set to premiere on the streaming series Friday October 14th.
Goliath follows a down-and-out lawyer (Thornton) as he seeks redemption. His one shot depends on getting justice in a legal system where truth has become a commodity, and the scales of justice have never been more heavily weighed toward the rich and powerful.
Ritter will play Joe Farley, a wry but savvy Special Agent with the Federal Bureau of Investigation. He joins a cast that is being led by Thornton and also includes William Hurt (Broadcast News), Olivia Thirlby (Juno), Maria Bello (Prisoners). Molly Parker (House of Cards) and Dwight Yoakam.
Created and written bv David E, Kelley – the veteran TV producer behind such shows as The Practice and Ally McBeal – and The Practice scribe Jonathan Shapiro Goliath (formerly known as Trial) is being produced by David E. Kelley Productions and Amazon Studios. The executive producers are David E. Kelley, Jonathan Shapiro, Ross Fineman and Larry Trilling.
