During the show’s panel at the Television Critics Association Summer Press Tour, Netflix announced the global premiere date and released the first trailer for their Gilmore Girls revival series, known as A Year In The Life.
Gilmore Girls: A Year In The Life will premiere on Netflix in all territories where the streaming service has a presence – including the US and the UK – on Friday November 25th, when all four 90 minute “mini-movies” will be available to stream.
There had been some question if Netflix would employ their “binge model”, where all episodes are released at once, for Gilmore Girls, especially as series co-creator and executive producer Amy Sherman-Palladino had expressed a preference for a more staggered release, akin to the weekly schedule when Gilmore Girls was on The WB and The CW.
Gilmore Girls: A Year In The Life consists of four 90-minute chapters, each spanning one of the four seasons: Winter, Spring, Summer and Fall. It was created by Amy Sherman-Palladino, who executive produces, writes and directs alongside Daniel Palladino. Dorothy Parker Drank Here Productions are producing in association with Warner Bros. Television. Returning cast members include Lauren Graham, Alexis Bledel, Scott Patterson, Kelly Bishop, Melissa McCarthy, Matt Czuchry, Milo Ventimiglia, Sean Gunn and Keiko Agena.
This first trailer, heavy on nostalgia, shows Lorelai (Lauren Graham) and Rory (Alexis Bledel) enjoying a conversation over – you guessed it – coffee. Topics on hand include whether Amy Schumer would like Lorelai and if John Oliver would find her hot. If you’re to take Rory’s word for it, however, the answer to both questions is a resounding no.
