International distributor ITV Studios Global Entertainment has lined up the first deals for ITV’s six-part murder mystery Loch Ness, mere weeks after it entered production in Scotland.
ITVSGE has sold the Laura Fraser (Houdini & Doyle) fronted drama to NBCUniversal International Networks’ 13th Street channel in France, Spain, Germany and Poland. Loch Ness is expected to premiere in those markets in 2017, shortly after it launches on ITV here in the UK.
Created by Stephen Brady, Loch Ness tells the story of Detective Annie Cathro who must deal with her first murder case when the body of local man Niall Swift is found at the foot of Carn Mohr Mountain and an isolated human heart washes up on the loch shore. The drama series is produced by ITV Studios and stars Laura Fraser, Siobhan Finneran, John Sessions, Don Gilet, Gray O’Brien and William Ash.
“We are delighted to be partnering with NBCUniversal International Networks on Loch Ness for their 13th Street channel in Europe”, said Dan Gopal, ITV Studios Global Entertainment’s Executive Vice-President for EMEA Distribution & Global Digital Partners. “We look forward to working with the NBCUI team in launching this original and compelling crime drama to audiences across France, Germany, Spain and Poland.”
