Amazon Prime Video Acquires UK Rights To CBS Comedy Series ‘Life In Pieces’

Life In PiecesLife In Pieces has found a UK home.

Amazon Prime Video has acquired the exclusive UK rights to the CBS comedy series after striking a deal with international distributor Twentieth Century Fox Television Distribution, TVWise has learned.

The show’s first season, which consists of 22 episodes, is now available to stream on Amazon Prime Video UK. The long-running deal between Amazon and Fox also gives the streaming service the rights to the second season of Life In Pieces, which is set to premiere in October.

Created by Justin Adler, Life In Pieces is a single camera comedy about one family told through the separate stories of its different family members. The comedy series is produced by 20th Century Fox Television and stars Dianne Wiest, James Brolin, Zoe Lister Jones, Colin Hanks, Angelique Cabral, Thomas Sadoski, Betsy Brandt, Dan Bakkedahl, Niall Cunningham, Holly J. Barrett and Giselle Eisenberg.

Like their closest rival Netflix, Amazon Prime Video has been ramping up their ambitions when it comes to first run U.S. scripted series, taking on more traditional broadcasters such as Channel 4, Channel 5 and Sky. That growing ambition has seen Amazon swoop in a secure exclusive UK rights to such series as Steven Soderbergh’s The Girlfriend Experience, JJ Abrams and Cameron Crowe’s Showtime comedy RoadiesAMC’s Preacher, USA Network’s Mr. Robot and Starz’s Outlander.
