PowerThe third season of Starz’s original drama series Power will premiere on Netflix UK on Monday July 18th, it has been announced.

New episodes will then continue to be made available to Netflix UK subscribers every Monday, less than 24 hours after they air on premium cable network Starz in the United States.

Netflix UK originally acquired Power earlier this year in a multi-year deal with Starz Digital – the on-demand division of Starz Distribution. Both the eight episode first and ten episode second season launched on the streaming service back in April.

Created by Courtney Kemp Agboh, Power is a crime drama set in two different worlds: the glamorous New York club scene and the brutal drug trade. The drama series is produced by CBS Television Studios and stars Omari Hardwick, Lela Loren, Naturi Naughton, Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson, Joseph Sikora, Andy Bean, Enrique Murciano, Luis Antonio Ramos, La La Anthony, Lucy Walters J.R. Ramirez, Jerry Ferrara, Anika Noni Rose, Shane Johnson, Callan Mulvey, Rotimi Akinosho, and David Fumero

The show’s third season finds James “Ghost” St. Patrick as the owner of new nightclubs, out of the drug game, and in a rekindled relationship with his first love, Angela – the AUSA sworn to bring him to justice. But just as they begin to believe James’ past criminal persona of “Ghost” may finally be behind them, both are forced to face the consequences of running from a life from which no one gets away clean – especially with the fate of Kanan, and the motives of Lobos, remaining a mystery.

Big score for Netflix as Amazon had the rights before IIRC?
Love this show though and surprised TV hasn’t picked it up in the UK

    • Amazon had EST/DTO rights to sell individual episodes, just as iTunes did, so it was never a Prime title. Netflix UK has acquired SVOD rights, as they have with Scream, PLL etc

Ah okay, thanks for clarifying that.
Just added to the value of my Netflix sub anyway 🙂
