The Good Wife star Archie Panjabi is joining the cast of NBC’s hit thriller series Blindspot in a major recurring role for its recently ordered second season, TVWise has learned.
Blindspot, from Warner Bros. Television and Martin Gero, follows a woman covered in tattoos who wakes up naked in Times Square, suffering from amnesia. Her case catches the attention of the FBI, which soon discovers that the tattoos are in fact a roadmap that leads them to a large conspiracy.
Archie Panjabi will play the head of a secret division of the National Security Agency (NSA) that has been tracking the Jane Doe case from afar. She joins a cast that also includes Sullivan Stapleton, Jaimie Alexander, Audrey Esparza, Rob Brown, Marianne Jean-Baptiste, Ukweli Roach and Ashley Johnson.
This marks the latest high-profile role for Panjabi who, following her six season stint as Kalinda Sharma on The Good Wife, has gone on to star in such TV series as The Widower, Power Monkeys, Shetland and Brooklyn Nine-Nine. She also starred as pathologist Tanya Reed-Smith in the first two seasons of Gillian Anderson’s BBC Two drama The Fall. Panjabi wont appear in the show’s third season, however, as the actress’ schedule did not allow her to reprise the role.
