Nevision and Good Company Films, the Danish production company set up by Wallander producer Ole Søndberg, have inked a deal to co-develop Midnights, a political thriller series aimed at a global audience.
Midnights is described as a political thriller set in a present world that is both familiar and strange, about Nordic Immortals who discover that they are dying amid the emerging Cold War in the Arctic. Anna Reeves created the series, which will be produced by Stinna Lassen and Vibeke Windeløv with former Yellow Bird Films execs Ole Søndberg and Anni Faurbye Fernandez executive producing.
The Nevision backed About Premium Content will be responsible for sourcing pre-sales for Midnights and will also handle international distribution for the series outside of Scandinavia. “Nevision and APC together are able to offer to the best independent drama talents like GoodCo a bespoke studio-like solution where the producer’s independence and creativity is fully preserved”, said APC CEO Laurent Boissel.
“Nevision and APC have an astute understanding of global drama, making them the perfect partners for our upcoming drama series. We look forward to working with them on Midnights”, commented Good Company Films co-founder and executive producer Ole Søndberg.
While James Cabourne, Executive Chairman of Nevision added: “GoodCo is a very exciting new company with a team that has an amazing track record in creating and producing quality drama which resonates with a global audience. The success of Wallander is testament to this and we are excited to be partnering with GoodCo on Midnights. We are also very pleased that APC has played a key role in the project.”
