Arjay Smith Joins TNT's 'Major Crimes' In Recurring Role – TVWise

Arjay Smith is staying in the TNT family. The former Perception star has been tapped for a recurring role on the network’s flagship drama Major Crimes, TVWise has confirmed.
Smith, who co-starred on all three seasons of Perception as Max Lewicki, has been cast as Dennis Price, a confident young man who has created a good business for himself as the neighborhood drug dealer. There is talk that the character will be make an appearance in the “big” season finale.
He is the latest guest star to board Major Crimes for the back-half of its fourth season. Greg Rikkart was previously tapped for a recurring role as Bobby G. Monroe, a confident young lawyer and anti-death penalty activist who is representing Slider, the defendant in the Alice Herrera case. That character makes his first appearance next week and is said to play a pivotal role in the upcoming episodes.
Despite being one of TNT’s highest rated shows, with a total audience close to ten million viewers, Major Crimes has yet to be renewed for a fifth season, though the network did expand season four to 23 episodes. Showrunner James Duff previously told TVWise that he was “confident” of a fifth season pick up and it was just a matter of the network and WBTV agreeing a new deal going forward. I understand that is still the case and both the studio and the network have been clear in their desire for a fifth season. A deal is expected before the season comes to a close in 2016.
Created by James Duff, Major Crimes follows the major crimes unit of the LAPD under the command of Captain Sharon Raydor. The drama series is produced by Warner Horizon Television and stars Mary McDonnell, G.W. Bailey, Tony Denison, Michael Paul Chan, Raymond Cruz, Phillip P. Keene, Kearran Giovanni, Graham Patrick Martin, Nadine Velazquez, Robert Gossett and Jonathan Del Arco.
