Disney is adding some star-power to Doc McStuffins. Britain’s Got Talent judge Alesha Dixon has signed on for a guest starring role on the kids series and will lend her voice to a character for the show’s recently ordered fourth season.
The episode featuring Alesha Dixon, titled Winded Winnie, will air in 2016. In said episode Dixon will voice Winnie, an antique tiger with a love for inflating balloons who has lost her puff. She is the latest high-profile guest star for Doc McStuffins in recent years, following in the footsteps of Joanne Froggatt, Lesley Nicol and First Lasy of the United States Michelle Obama.
“Doc McStuffins is such a powerful role model for young girls that I jumped at the chance to voice a character. It’s also one of my daughter’s favourite shows!”, Alesha Dixon said in a statement. “I love that the catchy songs and warm characters from the series are able to teach young children about the importance of self-care, good health and caring for others in such an adorable way. I had a lot of fun in the studio voicing the character and I can’t wait for my little girl to see me on it next year!”
Doc McStuffins follows the adventures of a six-year-old girl called Doc, who communicates with and heals stuffed animals and broken toys out of her backyard playhouse clinic. The series is a ratings hit on both sides of the Atlantic and remains a strong performer on Disney Junior UK, ranking as the number two most watched show on the channel with a total audience of 4.4 million viewers. The regular voice cast includes Kiara Muhammad, Lara Jill Miller, Robbie Rist, Jess Harnell, Loretta Devine, Jaydon Betts Kimberly Brooks and Gary Anthony Williams
