Red Arrow International has taken global distribution rights to The Romeo Section, a ten episode espionage series from Intelligence and Da Vinci’s Inquest creator and showrunner Chris Haddock which is being produced for Canadian public broadcaster CBC.
Created by Haddock, The Romeo Section follows Professor Wolfgang McGee, an academic who secretly manages a roster of espionage assets and informants. These assets, referred to as Romeo or Juliet spies, use their powers of seduction to extract secrets from state intelligence targets. The drama series stars Andrew Airlie, Jemmy Chen, Juan Riedinger, Eugene Lipinski and Stephanie Bennett.
“We are thrilled to be distributing Chris’s next major drama”, said Henrik Pabst, Managing Director of Red Arrow International. “We have wanted to work with him for a long time, and this intensely woven and high-stakes international spy story is a hugely exciting project to take out to the world.”
Red Arrow International plans to launch The Romeo Section to international buyers at MIPCOM in October. Other titles on Red Arrow’s MIPCOM slate include Cleverman, starring Iain Glen (Game of Thrones); ITV’s one-off drama Peter & Wendy; the second season of Bosch; crime series Einstein starring Tom Beck; and TV movie Berlin One from Wiedemann & Berg.
