Craig Ferguson is returning to television.
History has given the green-light to Join Or Die With Craig Ferguson, a new talk show format fronted by former host of The Late Late Show, TVWise has learned. The network has ordered sixteen episodes for the show’s freshman run, which is set to premiere in 2016.
Join Or Die With Craig Ferguson sees Fegruson debate provocative and timely topics, in his unorthodox and iconoclastic manner, with a panel of guests which will include celebrities and history experts, as well as the American public through social media. “I’m a huge fan of History and what they do,” said Craig Ferguson. “I’m delighted to be on their schedule and promise that we will have a lot of fun but we will also stick to the truth.”
The series, which was ordered by History’s Paul Cabana, is being produced by Comedy Dynamics and Green Mountain West in association with Lionsgate TV. Craig Ferguson, Phil Cottone, Brian Volk-Weiss and Jim Biederman serve as executive producers. Tim Healy and Matt Ginsburg are executive producers for History. Lionsgate will handle international distribution.
“Craig is incredibly knowledgeable, but also has a fun way of getting people engaged in history,” said Paul Cabana, Executive Vice President and Head of Programming for History. “It’s clear this is his passion project and we’re looking forward to having him join the network.”
