USA Network is adding to the cast of Poor Richard’s Almanack.
Harold Perrineau (Lost, Z Nation) and Sam Jaeger (Eli Stone, Parenthood) have been cast in regular roles in the network’s hour-long pilot which hails from Jim Danger Gray, Miguel Sapochnik, Legendary Television and USA Network’s sister studio Universal Cable Productions.
Poor Richard’s Almanack is described as a high-concept thriller that weaves between the modern day and a possible future where characters have changed radically. The drama revolves around a cadre of heroes who emerge as the new “Founding Fathers,” after America is pushed to the brink of collapse.
Per Deadline, Harold Perrineau will play Matt Monroe, the FBI Special Agent in charge of the investigation into the Philadelphia terrorist attach; while Sam Jaeger has been cast as Darwin Fischer, a former CIA field agent-turned-analyst. Jordan Hayes was previously cast in the pilot as Darwin’s sister Madison, who has to look past her affliction and trust her after she stumbles upon a plan for a series of terrorist attacks.
The hour-long pilot, which is a co-production between Legendary Television and Universal Cable Productions, was penned by Jim Danger Gray and Miguel Sapochnik. The executive producers are Jim Danger Gray, Marc Helwig and Miguel Sapochnik. Game Of Thrones helmer Neil Marshall has also boarded the project and will direct the pilot and serve as an executive producer.
