NBC’s comedy series Undateable will receive its UK premiere on Comedy Central UK on Tuesday September 29th at 9:30pm, it has been announced.
Based on the book by Ellen Rakieten and Anne Coyle, Undateable was written by Adam Sztykiel and follows a group of friends dubbed the “Undateables” whose lives are altered when a more confident character enters their world. The comedy is produced by Warner Bros Television & Doozer and stars Chris D’Elia, Brent Morin, Rick Glassman, Ron Funches, Bianca Kajlich, David Fynn and Briga Heelan.
Undateable has a history of defying the odds. The comedy was originally picked up to series in May 2013, but did not land a spot on NBC’s Fall 2013-2014 schedule. The producers had been promised a midseason launch by NBC brass, but when About A Boy and Growing Up Fisher premiered to ok ratings that plan changed and the series was given a Summer burn off, with few expecting it to survive. The show thrived, however, and was moved to midseason for its second season, which once again drew decent ratings. NBC recently renewed Undateable for a third season of entirely live episodes.
