BBC One’s one-off drama The Go-Between will premiere on Sunday September 20th at 9pm, it has been announced.
The Go-Between follows 13 year old Leo Colston, who. while spending his summer holiday with the Maudsley family, soon finds himself captivated by the enchanting Marian Maudsley. As the heat of the summer intensifies, Leo becomes more and more embroiled in the forbidden romance between Marian and farmer Ted Burgess, until he sets in motion a chain of events that has devastating consequences on his young life.
Based on the novel of the same name by LP Hartley, the one-off drama was adapted for television by The Musketeers creator Adrian Hodge and stars Joanna Vanderham, Vanessa Redgrave, Jim Broadbent, Stephen Campbell Moore, Ben Batt, Lesley Manville, Jack Hollington, Jack Cutmore-Scott and Samuel Joslin.
One of four literary dramas that the BBC has ordered as part of their season on classic 20th century literature, The Go-Between is produced by BBC Drama Production, with Claire Bennett serving as the producer, while Adrian Hodges and Sue Hogg executive produced. Legacy helmer Pete Travis directed.
