Sony Entertainment Television has found Satisfaction.
The Sony backed channel has secured the exclusive first run UK broadcast rights to the USA Network drama starring The Glades alum Matt Passmore after striking a deal with NBCUniversal International Television Distribution, TVWise has learned. The ten episode first season of Satisfaction will premiere on Sony Entertainment Television on Wednesday September 23rd at 9pm.
Created by Sean Jablonski, Satisfaction follows a married couple, Neil Truman and his wife Grace, and the unconventional choices they make to keep their relationship intact. The drama series is produced by Universal Cable Productions and stars Matt Passmore (The Glades), Stephanie Szostak (The Devil Wears Prada), Michelle DeShon (Hollywood Heights), Katherine LaNasa (The Campaign), Blair Redford (Switched at Birth) and Deanna Russo (Knight Rider).
Satisfaction has the distinction of being one of the first show’s that USA Network picked up as part of their move away from their so-called “blue-sky” roots, in favour of edgier programming such as Colony and Complications. The drama series first aired on USA Network last Summer and has already been renewed for a ten episode second season, which is set to debut in the United States this Autumn.
This is the most significant acquisition to-date for Sony Entertainment Television, who have slowly been establishing themselves as a home for first run content, after they initially launched as a library channel. Satisfaction follows in the footsteps of Hot In Cleveland, Serangoon Road, Community and TNT’s legal dramedy Franklin & Bash, all of which received their exclusive UK premieres on the channel.
