ITV Sets Premiere Date For ‘The Trials Of Jimmy Rose’

The Trials Of Jimmy RoseITV’s three-part drama The Trials Of Jimmy Rose will premiere on Sunday August 30th at 9pm, it has been announced.

The Trials of Jimmy Rose tells the story of the eponymous character, a career criminal who has made crime pay, with his profits taking the form of a beautiful detached home on a small executive estate. But it has come at a cost – he has spent more time in prison than with his family. Distant hazy memories of Jimmy have been shattered by years of abandonment. Jimmy’s family have moved on with their lives. Can Jimmy put his criminal life behind him and regain their respect and love by being a grandfather, a father and a husband, not a gangster?

The three-parter, which received a green-light back in August 2014, was penned by Strike Back scribe Alan Whiting & Dom Shaw, and is being produced by ITV Studios and GroupM Entertainment. The cast is being led by Ray Winstone as Jimmy, and Amanda Redman as Jimmy’s wife Jackie. John Lynch (The Fall), Marion Bailey (Vera Drake), Paul Jesson (Rome), Tom Cullen (Downton Abbey), Charlotte Randle (Silent Witness) and Montanna Thompson (The Story Of Tracy Beaker) also star.

TVWise’s UK Premiere Dates page has been updated with this new information.

Looking forward to this drama, why only 3 parts?

It’s about time these types of dramas run for at least 10-12 parts, or split into a couple more series, just gives the viewer a better time frame to get into these dramas. Seems to be too much shorttermism around!
