Despite a change in location, ABC & Marvel are looking to keep the cast of Agent Carter intact for its upcoming ten episode second season.
James D’Arcy (Broadchurch) and Enver Gjokaj (Rizzoli & Isles) have signed on to reprise their roles as Edwin Jarvis and Agent Daniel Sousa in the second season, which will be set in Los Angeles rather than New York, EW reports. Both will once again be series regulars alongside Hayley Atwell. Additionally, it is understood that ABC is in talks with remaining cast members Chad Michael Murray, Bridget Regan and Lyndsy Fonseca.
Marvel’s Agent Carter is set in the 1940s and follows Agent Carter, the character from Captain America and Captain America: Winter Solider, as she undertakes missions for the covert SSR (Strategic Scientific Reserve) at the behest of Howard Stark in New York. The first season of the Marvel and ABC Studios produced series starred Hayley Atwell, James D’Arcy, Chad Michael Murray, Enver Gjokaj, Dominic Cooper and Shea Whigham.
The second season finds Peggy Carter, dedicated to the fight against new atomic age threats in the wake of World War II, journey from New York City to Los Angeles for her most dangerous assignment yet. But even as she discovers new friends, a new home — and perhaps even a new love — she’s about to find out that the bright lights of the post-war Hollywood mask a more sinister threat to everyone she is sworn to protect.
After an extended delay, Marvel‘s Agent Carter was recently licensed to a UK broadcaster, with FOX UK taking the exclusive first run UK broadcast rights as part of a multi-year deal with international distributor Disney Media Distribution. The eight episode first season of Marvel’s Agent Carter is set to premiere on FOX UK on Sunday July 12th at 9pm.
