Miniseries Tut will receive its UK premiere on Channel 5 on Saturday August 1st at 9pm, it has been announced.
Penned by Michael Vickerman, Tut is set to tell the story of King Tut’s rise to power as the youngest Pharoah in the history of Egypt and his struggle to lead the country to glory, while his closest advisors, friends and lovers scheme for their own nefarious interests. The drama series is produced by Muse Entertainment and stars Ben Kingsley (Iron Man 3), Avan Jogia (Twisted), Alexander Siddig (Game Of Thrones), Kylie Bunbury (Twisted), Peter Gadiot (Once Upon A Time In Wonderland), Sibylla Deen (Tyrant), Iddo Goldberg (Salem) and Nonso Anozie (Dracula).
‘Tut is event television at its best”, said Channel 5’s Acquisitions Manager Sebastian Cardwell, who brokered the deal for the miniseries with Muse Distribution International. “The series reveals the story behind one of history’s biggest figures and is filled with epic high drama. I’m sure it’ll be a hit with Channel 5 audiences.’
