ABC Family Hands Out Pilot Order To Drama ‘Stay’ From Spenser Cohen & Jon Turteltaub

ABC FamilyABC Family has handed out a pilot order to Stay, an hour-long drama project from writer Spenser Cohen and veteran producer/director Jon Turteltaub, who most recently directed CBS’ Rush Hour pilot.

Stay is described as “an edge-of-your-seat thriller” which tells the story of a recently widowed police detective and his two daughters who are stranded at a foreboding hotel and must unravel the hotel’s mysteries to escape.

“Stay is an emotionally powerful story about a fractured family that comes back together under the most unexpected of circumstances,” said Karey Burke, ABC Family’s Executive Vice President of Programming & Development. “’Stay’ is a haunting and surprising ride that we are excited to bring to life.”

Spenser Cohen created Stay and is penning the script for the pilot, which is being produced in-house by ABC Family. Cohen will also serve as an executive producer on the hour-long effort alongside Jon Turteltaub and Anna Halberg. Jon Turteltaub will also serve as the director on the pilot.
