CSI3D.B. Russell is joining the FBI. Ted Danson has joined the cast of CSI: Cyber as a series regular for its upcoming second season. He will reprise his role as Criminalist DB Russell, a character he first started playing on the twelfth season of CSI: Crime Scene Investigation.

Under his new pact with CBS Television Studios, Danson will also star in the just announced two-hour series finale of CSI: Crime Scene Investigation, alongside William Petersen and Marg Helgenberger, before segueing to CSI: Cyber.

On CSI; Cyber, Ted Danson joins a cast which is led by Patricia Arquette, whose character FBI Special Agent Avery Ryan has some history with DB Russell after appearing in a number of episodes of CSI (including the back-door pilot for Cyber).

Created by Anthony Zuiker, Ann Donahue & Carol Mendelsohn, CSI: Cyber follows FBI Special Agent Avery Ryan, who runs the bureau’s Cyber Crime Division in Quantico, VA. Ryan is responsible for solving high-octane crimes that start in the mind, live on-line, and play out into the real world. The drama series is produced by CBS Television Studios and stars Patricia Arquette, James Van Der Beek, Peter MacNicol, Charley Koontz and Shad Moss.
