The second season of TNT’s cop drama Murder In The First will receive its UK premiere on FOX UK on Friday June 12th at 10pm, a mere four days behind the US premiere, it has been announced.
Created by Steven Bochco, Murder In The First is set in San Francisco and follows SFPD homicide detectives Terry English and Hildy Mulligan as they investigate a single murder case across each season. The drama is produced in-house by TNT Originals and stars Taye Diggs (Private Practice), Kathleen Robertson (Boss), Mimi Kirkland (Safe Haven), Raphael Sbarge (Once Upon a Time) and Ian Anthony Dale (Hawaii Five-0).
The show’s first season saw English and Mulligan investigate a series of murders that were linked to a Silicon Valley wunderkind. Given each season’s largely self contained storylines, season one regulars Tom Felton and Richard Schiff will not be returning. TNT is keeping plot details for the second season under wraps, except to say that the investigation takes the detectives deep inside San Francisco’s criminal underbelly.
Cast additions for the show’s second season, which runs an extended length of 12 episodes, include Emmanuelle Chriqui (Entourage) as Lara Cruz, a brash member of the San Francisco Police Department’s Gang Task Force; A.J. Buckley (Justified) as Marty Junior Mulligan, Detective Mulligan’s brother who was recently transferred into her unit; and Mo McRae (Sons Of Anarchy) as Malcolm “Suger” Monroe, a gangster boss and unofficial mayor of the projects.
