Victoria Wood will play Eve, an earthy, eccentric “Dry Cleaner” living in the human inhabited town of Daventry; Marc Warren has been cast as Daryl Snow, a “dry-cleaner” who is unemployed and a little emasculated; Keeley Hawes portrays Wendy Snow, Daryl’s wife; Joanna Scanlan plays Mildrew, Fungus’ beloved wife; and Paul Kaye is set as the ‘bogeyhunter’.
Set to air this Christmas, Sky’s adaptation will consist of four-hour long episodes, which are being penned by Tom MacRae. The project is set up at Imaginarium Studios and Double Negative’s TV division DNeg TV. Ben Evans is set as the producer, while Chloe Sizer and Jonathan Cavendish will executive produce.
