Channel4 has renewed their critically acclaimed comedy series Friday Night Dinner for a fourth season, the broadcaster announced today.
Created by Robert Popper, Friday Night Revolves around the dysfunctional Goodman family who, every Friday, sit down to a family meal. The comedy series is produced by Big Talk Productions & Popper Pictures and stars Simon Bird, Tamsin Greig, Paul Ritter, Tom Rosenthal and Mark Heap.
Robert Popper is returning to produce and pen the scripts for the show’s fourth run which will see Jonny get serious with a ‘female’, while Adam injures Jonny after buttering the kitchen floor and Mum is forced to pretend that her mother has died. Big Talk CEO Kenton Allen and Caroline Leddy will executive produce.
“It’s always a joy to welcome back the wonderfully doolally world of Friday Night Dinner, and series 4 looks set to be a real corker,” said Channel 4’s Deputy Head Of Comedy Nerys Evans.
The fourth season order for Friday Night Dinner comes the better part of a year after the show’s third season wrapped its run on Channel 4. It also comes after CBS made an attempt to adapt the series for the US market this part development cycle, though it never reached the pilot stage.
