BBC One’s one-off drama The C Word, which tells the true story of Lisa Lynch and stars Sheridan Smith (Mrs Biggs), will premiere on Sunday May 3rd at 8:30pm, it has been announced.
Based on the book of the same name by Lisa Lynch (Smith), The C Word tells the story of twenty-eight year old Lisa, a newly wed who is right at the start of things. Her life is going in the right direction and in the order she planned it. Then, out of the blue, she is diagnosed with breast cancer. One minute her life was normal, the next, in an instant, that normality was gone.
The 90 minute drama was penned by Nicole Taylor and is being produced by BBC Drama Production, who worked on the script with Lynch prior to her death in 2013. In addition to Sheridan Smith, the cast also includes Paul Nicholls (Law & Order: UK), Nate Fallows (Whitechapel), Haydn Gwynne (Death In Paradise), Michael Maloney (Fleming), Rebekah Staton (Raised By Wolves) and Susannah Field.
