UKTV is adding another exclusive title to Watch’s 2015 line-up.
The commercial network, which is a joint venture between BBC Worldwide and Scripps Networks Interactive, has signed on to co-produce factual series Nigel Marven’s Cruise Ship Adventures alongside Image Impact for their flagship entertainment channel Watch.
Nigel Marven’s Cruise Ship Adventures sees Marven explore another dimension to cruise ship voyages. The six episode series chronicles his voyage with Azamara Club Cruises, where he introduces passengers and crew to extraordinary creatures in well-known tourist destinations.
“Cruise Ship Adventures is an exhilarating trip around the globe, as Nigel plunges into Costa Rican jungles, dives beneath Caribbean waves, scrambles up Scandinavian cliffs and over Mediterranean mountains”, said Steve North, General Manager of Watch.
“Nigel Marven’s enthusiasm for wildlife is infectious, and in this distinctive and unique series he gives us a privileged peek at life on a cruise ship and in its exotic destinations”, added UKTV’s Head of Acquisitions and Co-Productions Alexandra Finlay, who brokered the co-production deal with Image Impact’s Louise Dawe-Lane.
The six episode factual series, which is set to premiere this May, is the latest commission/co-production for UKTV, who have been gradually increasing their content spend in the past few years. Other upcoming commissions for Watch include Singing in the Rainforest and globe-trotting talent series World’s Most Talented, which premieres on March 31st.
