CBS is continuing their streak of early pick ups for top performing series by handing out renewals to Warner Bros. Television produced comedies Mom and Mike & Molly.
The Allison Janney and Anna Farris fronted Mom has been picked up for a third season, while Mike & Molly will be back for its sixth season. CBS has yet to officially confirm the renewals, though members of the productions teams let word of pick ups slip on social media.
Both Mike & Molly and Mom are solid ratings performers for CBS. Mom’s most recent episode drawing a solid 9.7 million viewers and a 2.2 A18-49 rating, while Mike & Molly has assumed Rules Of Engagement‘s former position as CBS’ utility player which performs well in whatever time-slot it is placed.
Mom and Mike & Molly are the latest series to earn renewals at CBS. The network previously picked up new seasons of The Big Bang Theory, Scorpion, NCIS: New Orleans and Madam Secretary. There are a couple of other renewals in the pipeline for such series as NCIS, Criminal Minds and 2 Broke Girls.
