Fritz Howard, meet Judge Pernell Harris.
Accomplished actor Jon Tenney, who played FBI agent turned LAPD Deputy Chief Fritz Howard on TNT’s The Closer and spin-off Major Crimes, has landed a recurring role on the ten episode first season of Amazon Studios’ original drama series Hand Of God.
Created by Ben Watkins, Hand of God follows Judge Harris, a hard-living, law-bending married man with a high-end call girl on the side, who suffers a mental breakdown and goes on a vigilante quest to find the rapist who tore his family apart. With no real evidence to go on, Pernell begins to rely on “visions” and “messages” he believes are being sent by God through Pernell’s ventilator-bound son
Tenney, who most recently has been playing Vice-President Andrew Nichols on ABC’s hit series Scandal, will play Nick Tramble, a high-powered attorney representing Judge Harris’ daughter in an on-going lawswuit. He is described as being magnetic, intense and charming man, who has a long-standing rivalry with the Judge.
He is the latest addition to a cast which is being toplined by Ron Perlman & Dana Delany and also includes Garret Dillahunt, Andre Royo, Alona Tal, Julian Morris, Elizabeth McLaughlin, Emayatzy Corinealdi. Other recurring cast members include Erykah Badu, Lance Bass, Hunter Parrish and Jacob Vargas.
Production on the ten episode first season of Hand Of God is now underway in in the Los Angeles area, with Amazon Prime Instant Video eyeing a late 2015 premiere in the United States, the UK and Germany,
