Amazon Prime Instant Video UK is sticking with their most recent round of US imports.
The UK arm of Amazon’s streaming service has announced that they have picked up the exclusive UK rights to the second seasons of Halt & Catch Fire, Turn: Washington’s Spies and The Red Road after agreeing a deal with international distributor Entertainment One (eOne).
Turn, Halt & Catch Fire were initially acquired by Amazon earlier this year as part of a package deal that also gave them exclusive rights to multiple seasons of DirecTV’s Thandie Newton fronted Rogue. All three series will debut their newest seasons on Amazon within 48 hours of their respective broadcasts in the United States.
Turn is a spy drama set in the US during the revolutionary war; Halt & Catch Fire stars Lee Pace and Scoot McNairy and tells the story of the personal computing boom in the 1980s; while The Red Road, starring Jason Momoa, revolves around two clashing communities – a small town and the neighboring mountains, home to a Native American tribe – and two dynamic men on a collision course.
“We are delighted that just 48 hours after broadcast these hard hitting US dramas will be available exclusively to UK audiences on Amazon Prime Instant Video,” said Chris Bird, Film & TV Strategy Director for Amazon Prime Instant Video. “We pride ourselves on being the home of great TV drama from around the world and season two of The Red Road, Halt & Catch Fire and TURN will be in good company alongside our own award winning and critically acclaimed original dramas, Transparent, Mozart in the Jungle and Bosch.”
